Estate Planning
Having an estate plan is essential, regardless of your wealth. A Trust will transfer your assets to whom you want, when you want, and per your terms. A Will nominates guardians for your children. Powers of Attorney authorize your agents to make financial and medical decisions for you, during a time where you’re unable to make those decisions yourself. If you would like to choose who will fight for you when you are most vulnerable, and then provide those people with customized instructions for your care, then you need an estate plan.
Trust & Estate Administration
Administering an estate or a trust is not easy, and given the emotional toll of losing a loved one, it can challenge even the strongest of families. Trust administration can start as soon as 30 days after death, often takes a year, and sometimes will last a lifetime. There is no need to do it alone, and you should not do it alone. Trustees can be held personally liable for any mistakes made along the way. This is an aspect of the law where you are going to want immediate and constant access to your attorney.
Probate
When estate planning is done properly, there is no probate. When probate court cannot be avoided, we are here to help.
Trust Litigation
A quote from our attorney “My grandfather taught me to be nice first, because you can always be mean later. However, once you’ve been mean to someone, they won’t believe the nice anymore. So be nice, and continue to be nice…until it is time to stop being nice, and then destroy them.”
At Pacific Estate Planning P.C. our goal will always be to try to avoid litigation. Sometimes, clearing up a miscommunication is all that it takes. However, if more is needed….
Business Formation & Annual Compliance
Getting ready to start a business? Exciting! Our attorney is a patented inventor and has already enjoyed ownership in four companies. Our attorney will form your S-Corporation, C-Corporation, or LLC, and share any related business experience along the way.
If you already have a business, when was the last time your corporation or LLC’s binder was reviewed? Are you in compliance with the California Secretary of State? Will your business actually protect you from personal liability? Call us. Our attorney will perform a deep review of all your business documents, assist you with annual compliance, and advise you on how to achieve the liability protection you deserve.
Business Succession Planning
Are you getting ready to retire, but don’t want to sell the company to a stranger? A Business Succession Plan is like an estate plan, but for your business. Let our attorney guide you to transfer your business to the next generation, while keeping “key employees” happy, and the business running smoothly.
I will forever recommend you to friends, family, and acquaintances. Thank you for helping my dad, who has Alzheimer’s, get transferred to a Memory Care Facility. Thank you for getting me the legal documents I need to help my mom as she recovers in a skilled nursing facility from a broken leg and COVID. I don’t know how you managed to get this done during a time when neither of us were even allowed in the building, but you did, and I’ll never forget the time and energy you spent to protect me and my family.
